So far, so good in central band. But went for a funeral today. Yes, it may be very common for us to do military funerals. Yes, it's bloody tiring marching with the sousaphone for half an hour non-stop! But it really makes me reflect on life. How fragile life is. Even a storeman can be killed by an airplane which crushed down directly onto the store! Today's funeral was for a 19 yr old guy. Sad. So young, yet he was not given the chance to live his life. at least to an age where he's suppose to leave the world...

Yea, after about a hundred post... I've been posted to central band... Don't know whether to feel sad or happy. I just don't know. A mixed feelings? Will miss my friends and all that. Miss being in a place so called my second home. Stay in band B bunk, talk in band B and play for band B. WQ talked about feeling insecure. Maybe. I don't feel secure going band C. But we are all humans.. we can't help feeling that way. Imagine going to live on ur own after so long at home? I know it's a test for me. If i go overseas for education, that's what i gonna feel... But i won'y shut off my fear.. i'll feel it.. let it be filled up and finally, learn to let go of it. This was taught in the book "Tuesdays with Morrie".. Hopefully i'll get over it sooner than later and continue to persue my dreams...

First concert with central band! But a bad experience! The hall in republic was nicely designed and furnished. Really look like some kinda Japanese concert hall. But the acoustic was real bad. Way too loud and too much echo!! Dunno who's idea it was to put us in RP!!! Hmm.. some band conductor of rp??? Hahaha.. u know who! Was feeling so so different in Band C. Didn't really talk much cos i'm just not used to it. Unlike in Band B, i can just go crazy with people around me! Will miss them once i'm posted there.. THURSDAY!!! So fast... Well, at least concert is over and i really need to concentrate on my exams.. but since when i concentrated on the concert? hahaha...

Had some problem with the last post. Can't remember what i wrote though. Anyway, on off today! Was so darn tired last night after central band rehearsal ended at 9pm. Waste of time. Yes, i do agree playing in central band is stressful. Not that ALL are good players, but maybe comapred to school bands and parade bands, it's so much in tune and the moment you are out, u hear it and people will look at u. Haha.. Die, I'm into the intonation thing again!! Hopefully the concert will be a peaceful one and please let me have more rest before OCS and SAF Day rehearsals come! It'll be darn tiring...

Alright, think it's my com having the problem. Anyway, Had not been blogging these few days cause of this problem. Firstly, SYF is over. Yes, expected... TPJC got a silver. But it was really bad. Heard from jing that some of them cried.. what is there to cry????? You harvest what you sow... Bo chap members lead to bo chap results. I can't feel the spirit when i went back. That's it. Not united, no strong leadership.. even u got a conductor with a phd in music, there's nothing he can do. I strongly believe in that. Leadership, system, spirit and then musicianship. If you are from a good band, you'll know what i mean. Anyway, it's over.. learn from mistakes.

And since SYF is over, i really had a great time with jing today! Went orchard for a movie.. had dinner before that and yes, had a simple but great evening! can't believe we actually stayed out till 1am! Haha.. a good girl jing is going to be led astray by me! jing, thanks for tonight! I really enjoyed it...!!!

The weather has been erratic these few days. It can be so darn hot in the morning and heavy showers in the noon. Because of people like us, global warming is becoming more and more serious a problem. Tornado in US, hot hot weather in Beijing and floods in er.. some wooloo countries. When can the world's leaders look seriously into the problem before all of us get wiped out by natural disasters? I can't do anything but to well, complain! Haha... Singapore students are too busy to bother about these global issues. They have more "important" things to worry about such as exams and school work all that. The school did talk about it. But it's just part of the curriculum. They discuss and forget about it and continue to worry about exams... OKok, enough about the education system. But true.. jing is just so tied up with her SYF, her science SPA and A levels at the end of the year. Hope she really pull through it with flying colours! Jia you!!!

As for me, i'm lookin forward to my lessons and of course my grade 8 exam! It may not mean anything to professional players. But I really need them to qualify for overseas universities! Time to really mug on my playing. Maybe i should just put my theory exams aside till next march. Shall see how. Don't want to focus on too many things and end up failing all of them! Some ppl can't be bothered conducting more full band prac and only care about writing their pieces and doing gym work! Worst, some can't even conduct properly! Dun wanna name out.. BUT, IT"S A FACT! Who are they if they ever retire and goes into the local band scene? They can't even compare to people like Brando Tan, Sia Swee Suan, Lee Tian Tee or Chan Pek Suan?

Happy Labour Day! Really had a fun and fufilling time for the past 2-3 days! Celebrated my birthday with Jing on the 28th. Had dinner at Tao's! A short but sweet celebration! Gave me 2 presents. One which i had recieved like 2 weeks before and the other one was a candle which i recieved on that particular day we went out. That was really a special candel! Shall upload the photo if i got the time to take a picture of it! Thanks darling!

Then on the 29th, before i went to Joel's place for some dinner (not meant to celebrate my birthday, just a coincidence that his dinner was on that day!), RY called and ask me to meet up with them so as to pass me my present! Wa.. was so happy lor! Initially i thought that they really forgot my Bday due to exams in the uni. Anyway, i love that Nike shirt! Thanks to Simon, Li Hui and Rui Yang! Thanks alot! I was very touched!!!

Then on the 30th, which is yesterday, I promised to treat my batch mate to dinner caused i sign on. Soya, i treated them to Marina South's steamboat lor.. When i thought everyone was leaving and was chatting with Wang Quan, suddenly Jun Yang called me over and a Happy Birthday song was sung! Hahahahahaha... Soooooo touched! With a cake ok!!! And a big card with all the bday wishes from my batch mates, band mates and officers! Thanks alot guys! Never had such surprises for a long long long time! ALomost cried lor! Hahaha! Will remember this day man!
